Born on the Scottish Trails

Hi, I’m Scott, Founder and Lead Photographer at Evans Perspective.

I’ve been exploring the hills, woods, and glens of Scotland since I was old enough to walk. Some of my earliest memories are trailing behind my dad through the wild Scottish landscape, learning to respect the weather, read the terrain, and love the quiet spaces most people walk straight by.

When I picked up a camera over twenty years ago, carrying it out onto those same local trails felt entirely natural. I didn't learn composition or lighting inside a sterile indoor studio; I learned it through two decades of trailing through misty glens, open hillsides, and unpredictable Scottish skies.

Today, I use that lifelong familiarity with the outdoors to help my clients explore off the beaten path, capturing honest, unposed moments in the landscapes I’ve called home my entire life, usually accompanied by my dog, Igor.

Daily Perspective

Away from commercial sessions, the camera rarely leaves my side. This is simply what I see when I'm not working, a personal visual gallery of daily walks with Igor, local Scottish landscapes, and the quiet moments captured just for the joy of it.

Trail Session Philosophy

I built Evans Perspective to get away from artificial studio setups, stiff formatting, and forced posing. Photography belongs out here in the open, where you can escape the pressure of a camera lens and just be yourself.

Every booking is mapped out entirely around your natural pace and rhythm. There is no rush, no schedule, and no expectations. You, your family or your dog can simply enjoy the day and focus on the walk while I take care of capturing the journey.

I step onto the trail purely as a tag-along camera partner. By moving together through the landscape, I get to document the honest, unposed connections and real, candid moments that only unfold when you simply step into the wild.
