Don't worry about it at all safety always comes first. We can absolutely keep your dog on a lead during the session. The sessions are focused on you, your dog(s), and being naturally comfortable out in nature.
Please note: In strict compliance with the Dogs (Protection of Livestock) (Amendment) (Scotland) Act 2021, full legal and physical control of your pet remains with you at all times, and dogs must be placed on short leads whenever we traverse agricultural land or walk near livestock.

You only need to be comfortable walking at a steady, manageable pace on the route you select. Because you choose the trail, you define the difficulty, whether that is a flat, gentle stroll through a glen, a forest path, a local hill, or a more strenuous mountain climb.
Please note that because we will be stopping frequently to take photographs, the journey will take longer than a standard walk. A route that normally takes you 4 hours solo will likely push closer to 5 hours. The session focuses on enjoying the environment and the process of stopping for photographs to document your walk, rather than racing against a stopwatch, so you can set whatever pace feels comfortable for your group.

No, I am not a mountain guide, and these are not guided treks. I operate strictly as a professional photographer tagging along to document your walk. Under the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003, you are exercising your statutory outdoor access rights, and your group remains entirely responsible for your own safety, route selection, navigation, and physical fitness choices on the hills. Think of me as an extra hiking partner who happens to be carrying a camera bag!

Dress for the outdoors with sturdy walking boots and waterproof layers (it is Scotland after all). Beyond that, just bring whatever your dog normally needs for a good walk, plenty of treats, a favourite toy to grab their attention, water, and waste bags.

I aim to have your images fully processed and ready to send within two weeks of our walk. You will receive a secure link to a private, online gallery interface. From there, you can easily view, share, and directly download all of your high-resolution, professionally edited digital files with a permanent personal-use license. If there are ever any unexpected delays outside of this two-week window, I will contact you directly to let you know exactly when your gallery will be ready.
